Analyzing Personal Conflict Management Style
Conflict is something that happens whether in a team up or group. How an individualist responds to conflict and resolves it will enable or limit success. This leaven will analyze the personal conflict management styles I use most frequently, describe the advantages and disadvantages, and explain why I believe the use of the style will empower the team, fashioning it more effective.
The personal conflict management style I would choose most frequently is coaction. Websters dictionary says, to cooperate iodin must work jointly or together, specially in an intellectual endeavor (Merriam Webster, 2012). A flourishing team does not become successful because of wizard person. A successful team becomes successful because several individuals came together to achieve one common goal. Team members who collaborate are not concern about individual power and supremacy; they recognize the challenges and benefits of put their heads together to discuss ideas (McNeary, 2003). To collaborate means individuals respect the tie-up of others and allow the team to learn and grow. I believe teams that understand the benefits of collaboration are more stable and effective.
The disadvantage of collaboration is the energy, judgment of conviction, and the skill that goes into collaborating.
My second choice would be accommodation. In the offset stages of forming a team, individuals who come together usually begin sentiment each other out. The different personalities of new teammates and various cultures enkindle be intimidating at first, but it is at this time that the team can come together as one and establish ground rules and norms. This gives everyone on the team the chance to record and equally contribute; a time to be conform to and respectful to each other (Somech, 2009).
