I have chosen to analyze the blend in of Nadine Gordimer, Country Lovers. This business relationship struck my interest for a meet of reasons. First of off, I am biracial myself so this story interested me in the fact of when I was born inter-racial straddle were frowned upon. Coming from an inter-racial family, the kip down that was shared was not talked about. My mother was uncontaminating and father was African American. Although they did not stay together and I was raised by white parents, I can consociate to this story on an emotional level.
The tone of this story is come up stated as it shows the conflict between inter-racial affairs and how it was not accepted and also why words were neer verbalize of the love the dickens shared. In Country Lovers, Thebedi and Paulus Eysendyck were chelahood friends who created a relationship that involved love and a partnership that was frowned upon and could never be spoken of. The two went through their teenage old age having secret encounters on the riverbed. Paulus had relationships with other females and would take them dancing and to the arrive in cinemas just as a boy of his attitude should even though he had a secret love with this South African woman.
There were many times end-to-end their life where they would secretly meet and have intimacy.
As the two got older they went about their lives and Thebedis father had arranged a marriage for her with Njabulo. The two got married and eventually conceived a child as they were supposed to do. When the child was born the skin was visible radiation than should have been and didnt get darker as most African children do. The baby had straight straw like hair and eyeball that were grey with yellowish flickers just like that of Paulus. Thebedi and Paulus had a meeting in which she allowed for him to see the infant. Although he did not call for to peck at the infant up and hold it, I felt as though he saw the connection with the baby.
