Background:
PID eastward is a surgical incision of Nepal Telecom (NT) under the PSTN Directorate. Its main objective is to install the original/underground cables and secondary cables for distribution of new telephone lines and origination of (Next Generation Net cipher) NGN nodes for fixed line distribution. It starts a job however after it receives a net head for the hills plan for approaching Gateway, opthalmic Network Units (ONUs / nodes), or network expansion for existing Exchanges from Access Network Planning (ANP). The various types of plans received from ANP, are courtly Plans which include trenching and ducting jobs, Underground Network Plans, Secondary Network Plans and opthalmic Network Plans.
After a plan is received from ANP, PID East does Primary and Secondary Network as per pre schedule targets aligned with current demand of the Telecom Offices.



PID East basically is responsible for installation of Copper and Optical cables inside Kathmandu Valley and its periphery with its area defined as Babarmahal Exchange, Chabahil Exchange, Jorpati Exchange, Kapan Exchange, Indrayeni Exchange, Thimi Exchange and Bhaktapur Exchange. Outside Kathmandu Valley the office alike looks after exchanges located in Kavre, Sindhupalchowk, Dolakha District along with responsibilities for NGN suffer implementation in Eastern and Central Development Regions.
in that location is one underground team, 4 secondary teams, one opthalmic fiber splicing team doing the network installation jobs and quadruplet teams which installs equipments in Kathmandu and Eastern and Central Development Regions. The identification number of teams was adequate but for the current fiscal year 068-69 the work load is huge due to the currently purchased NGN equipments, so we at PID East will have to make our work more efficient.
